This is excellent. Thanks for putting this together.

Thanks! I just set up the project and tried an example, and the prompt Claude generated for me referred to files in its knowledge base like 'STYLE_GUIDANCE', which seems suboptimal since the deep research model (OAI or GDM) won't have access to that. Have you found it does that? (I can privately share the example if that is useful.)

Haven't found that, sharing the example would be useful, seems like it would be fairly easy to tweak the system instructions to avoid

I've tweaked the system instructions slightly (with the other tabs remaining the same) and haven't been able to replicate this since, though I did manage to get it to happen before. Copy the new system instructions tab and you should be good to go!

OK thanks, interestingly I still get the same issue. I messaged you the link to my example.

Oscar and I DMed about this and tl;dr it's worth enabling thinking when you use this project. I've added a footnote.

I've used this a few time with some good success.

I wish I had something like this for creating coding prompts to plug into something like VS Code or Cursor to fully specify small projects.

I've set this up and I love it, thank you!

I've set it up as a project in Claude and a gem. They have both produced great prompts. I put both prompts into GPT and Gemini Deep Research: GPT worked well with both, Gemini however, has stalled on both - done a tonne of research and thinking, but is stuck on "Analysing results" and "Creating your report" (last 50 minutes, will wait an hour then cancel I guess).

I haven't used Gemini much for DR before. Is this behaviour common?

I’ve been using Claude to create deep research prompts for a while but without the structure you have in place here- can’t wait to try it!

Also works well using google notebooklm with docs you've made, and then using the notebooklm prompt for gemini deep research. Thanks!

Will definitely try this. Would rock to have it as gem, too.

Do you just fire the prompt and tell it to go off and work or still engage with the proposed approach (more relevant for Gemini I think)?

It works as a Gem! Use the project instructions as the Gem instructions and dump the rest in as knowledge.

I don't engage with the research plans at all

I ended up copying the entire Google Docs file to my Gdrive and just using that wholesale for context, seems to get the job done.

Eitehr way, I am still not sure Gemini deals with Markdown all that well - sometimes I get weird issues with it.
